Black Eyed Peas will perform at the Michael Jackson tribute concert

Black Eyed Peas will perform at the Michael Jackson tribute concert in Cardiff, the band members have been announced.

Will.i.am is one of the band member, who worked as a studio producer with Jackson, said the show would be "an incredibly personal and moving evening" for him.

Jackson's music for my entire life "inspiration" has been, he said.

The Michael Forever concert will held at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on 8 October.

50 years old, June 25, 2009, the day after Jackson's death, Black Eyed Peas Thriller during his performance at Glastonbury paid tribute to the singer.

Will.i.am said, Jackson's "great, great songs" was set up back his childhood.

He said, "When I was a little kid of six or seven growing up in Los Angeles, there was Michael recording Thriller, and all his early hits, just a few miles away across town - obviously I didn't know him at that time, but I loved him as a fan".

"Then one day about four years ago, with the Black Eyed Peas well-established, I got a call from him I will never forget. I then had the great privilege of working with him and getting to know him and his beautiful family."

He said that the Black Eyed Peas would be proud to perform at the concert, as "we all owe Michael such a lot".

Marlin Jackson's brother said the family is "delighted and touched" the black-eyed peas were participating.

He said, "My brother rated Will.i.am and the original things he does in music very highly. I guess you could say it was a case of mutual respect".

Headline will include performances from Beyonce via video link, singer and Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson, Cee Lo Green, Leona Lewis, JLS, Jamie Foxx and Christina Aguilera.

Minot native and actor Josh Duhamel said in a statement, “On behalf of myself and the great people of North Dakota, I would like to thank will.i.am, Taboo, apl.de.ap and Fergie Ferg for their incredible act of kindness. The Black Eyed Peas and their band, Bucky Johnson, rocked the house on Saturday night and raised a ton of money for the flood victims of Minot. We will never forget what they did.”

Grandstand concert broke attendance records and receipts. First recorded in 2010 was 15,082 in attendance in concert with the kiss. Preliminary calculations show that Saturday's concert brought 15,800 people, said the news release.

“This was a feat of epic proportion, and it resulted in an epic event that will leave a legacy in this city. I am humbled to be the steward of such generosity,” Ken Kitzman, executive director of the foundation, said in a statement.
