CD reviews: Black Eyed Peas and Jazmine Sullivan

Black Eyed Peas has dominated the pop radio and dealing with their dominance it is like planning for earthquakes in Los Angeles.Well, there is no use in protesting about either anymore. Each is a geologic fact, and you might as well accept the inevitability.

The Big One, which is the Peas latest release that will topple freeways is "The Time (Dirty Bit)," a typically house-jacking club track that so flagrantly bites the chorus of "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" from "Dirty Dancing" that it has a kind of post-authorial genius.

But complaining about such is like lamenting the rise of global capitalism. The better challenge is to find the pearls of techno-caveman beauty in the coke-nose vocal tweaks of "XOXOXO" or the Daft Punk aspirations of "The Best One Yet (The Boy)." They have a song called "Love You Long Time," for goodness sake. That's all the Black Eyed Peas want to do, and they will not be ignored.

Black Eyed Peas New Album Coming Soon

Black Eyed Peas release new album The Beginning later this month and now will.i.am has revealed the influence behind the record.

Discussing the follow-up to last year’s The E.N.D., the rapper and producer said the new album is inspired by the 1980s.

"The 80s was unique. It launched humanity into hyper mode. From then to now we’ve transcended to a totally different culture," will told the Daily Star. "Now we have high definition, 3D animation, whereas the beginning was Tetris and Space Invaders. That’s what we’re doing - we’re connecting the pixels."

Will.i.am also revealed how he had to improvise making some parts of the album, because it was recorded on the road during the band’s world tour. "We had no speakers so I had to hijack the hotel television set and plug my computer into it. Some songs are 120 beats per minute and others are, like, 320."

The Beginning is released November 26.

Black Eyed Peas Get Sued For Stolen Song "I Gotta Feeling"

Texan song writer Bryan Pringle has made the allegation that his song 'Take A Dive' has been recomposed by the BEP and their record label Interscope. The originality of Black Eyed Peas hit single ‘I Gotta Feeling’ is being questioned in yet another lawsuit against the chart toppers

Pringle claim that he sent the version in nineties to the band but they never responded and now he thinks that they are taking profit from his hardwork

A previous case against the 4-piece was resubmitted on the same day as this new one and is being looked after by the same law firm

A lawyer representing the singer suing over another BEP hit ’Boom Boom Pow’, has said on MTV.co.uk: “A simple listening of the two songs will tell you that the songs are substantially similar, and that the hooks of the two songs are virtually identical in rhythm and lyrics”

According to MTV Uk claim hat Interscope with the Black Eyes Peas have shown “a pattern and practice of intentional copyright infringement of unknown or lesser-known artists”.
